personal bio

I am a quite individual who tends to keep to myself. I am currently attending a community college, and plan on transfering to Cal Poly, Pomona, sometime in spring or fall 2009. I am deeply interested in space and science, and I would like to work for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory someday, and work on the next Mars Rover (or similar projects).

favorite quote

I like a large number of quotes. Here are a small selection:

Albert Einstein
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

“Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.”
.
.
.
Benjamin Franklin
“Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.”

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
.
.
.
Dom Helder Camara
“When I give food to the poor, the call me a saint; When I ask why the poor have no food, the call me a communist”
.
.
.
Douglas Adams
“In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.”
.
.
.
Adam Osbourne
“People think computers will keep them from making mistakes. They’re wrong. With computers you make mistakes faster.”
.
.
.
George Orwell
“All animals are created equal- but some animals are created more equal than others.” (From Animal Farm)

”’Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?’” (From 1984)
.
.
.
Jonathan Swift
“Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody’s face but their own.”
.
.
.
Lily Tomlin
“Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.”

“Why is it that when we talk to God we’re said to be praying, but when God talks to us we’re schizophrenic?”

“Ninety eight percent of the adults in this country are decent, hardworking, honest Americans. It’s the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then, we elected them.”
.
.
.
Max Born
“The belief that there is only one truth and that oneself is in possession of it seems to me the deepest root of all evil that is in the world”
.
.
.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
“The true test of civilization is not the census, nor the size of the cities, nor the crops, – no, but the kind of man the country turns out.”
.
.
.
Steve Wozinack
“Never trust a computer you can’t throw out a window.”
.
.
.
Thomas Jefferson
“I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.”

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

“Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear”
.
.
.
Unknown
“The bureaucracy is expanding, to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy.”
